Liquid-precursor ceramic films that can be used for hermetic coatings on electronic circuits are being investigated. There is need for inexpensive hermetic coatings for electronic circuits. The liquid-precursor method for the deposition of ceramic films allows surfaces to be coated at low costs with relative ease. Sol-gel and silane-based films have been investigated.
